If you are like me, then you are always looking for ways to save time. One of the ways I have found to save time is by washing dishes. There are a few tips that I have learned that help me wash dishes quickly and efficiently. I wanted to share these tips with you in case you are looking for ways to save time as well.

Tips To Save Time Washing Dishes

Air dry dishes Instead of towel drying

Air dry dishes when possible . If you have the space, try air drying your dishes using a dish dryer rack and dish dryer mat instead of using a towel to hand dry. This will cut down on laundry as well as dishes since you won’t have to wash towels as often.

Scrape food into the trash

Scrape food into the trash instead of rinsing it down the sink. This will save you water from rinsing your dishes as well.

Soak pots and pans

Soak your pots and pans – Soaking your dirty pots and pans in soapy water for a few minutes before washing them will make cleanup much easier. The soap will loosen any dried-on food, so all you’ll need to do is give them a quick rinse before putting them in the dishwasher.

Place dirty dishes into the dishwasher as you go

Wash your dishes as you go – If you have a dishwasher, take advantage of it by placing dirty dishes and cups directly into it throughout the day.

That way, they’ll be out of the way and one less thing for you to worry about at the end of the day.

This is a lot more efficient then spending 20 minutes putting an entire dirty sink of dishes into the dishwasher at the end of the night.

Use a good dish brush

Use a dish brush to scrub dishes instead of your hands. A dish brush will help you clean dishes faster than if you were to use your hands.

I like to use a dish brush that can be filled with dish soap for extra cleaning power and time saving.

Not to mention, it will save your hands from getting dirty and wet.

Use plastic or paper plates sometimes

If you don’t mind the increased cost, switch sometimes to using plastic or paper plates or silverware.

Depending on the situation, such as a party or get-together, having throw away options for dishes can be a huge time saver.

There are also a lot of nice looking options out there that closely mimic real plates and silverware.
