5 Ways To Decrease Your Daily Chores

Make a schedule or list of tasks for your day

Whether you time block with a planner or just use a post-it note to write down a to-do list, make a list of what needs done today. That will help get you focused on what’s most important and you can spend less time on less important tasks.

Create a simple cleaning routine

If you create a simple cleaning routine for the week or month, if can reduce the total amount of cleaning you do. For example, if you always plan on cleaning the stovetop on the weekend, you can choose to just not clean it every night if that seems to be wasting your time.

Delegate chores whenever possible

Divide up chores with your family members. Not only does this free up time for you from repetitive tasks, it can be a great way to get family members and children involved and teach them the importance of helping each other out.

If you have the ability to delegate outside of the house as well or share chores with another person, that helps as well! This could be sharing grocery shopping trips with a sibling or parent and taking turns with running to other stores for errands.

Automate with technology as much as you can

Our phone, computers and home assistants can be a great asset to help automate tasks. Set up automatic billing for your expenses, set up notifications for important events or reminders, or even use your assistant to create your shopping lists.

In our home, we use and love the Alexa assistant! We realized that it was going to be super helpful after we had our first child. I can add items to shopping lists and set timers and reminders when my hands are full with our baby and I tend to multi-task a lot more now as a parent.

As it is an Amazon assistant, it connects directly to my amazon account and lists. I highly recommend it!

Keep busy areas in your home organized

Keep areas like the kitchen, entryway or office area organized so important items can be easily found. If you find yourself searching for kids’ homework or your keys everyday, make a designated home for them.
